I’ve written about long distance relationships before, but I never really wrote about the situation I happen to be in, which I feel is rather unordinary.

My boyfriend commutes outside of the state four days out of every week. He flies out on a Monday, and comes home on a Thursday. This means that it is just me and our son. This is a very difficult thing because it puts stange stress on our relationship, and nobody can really relate to me.

None of my friends can really relate anyway, because I am the first of my very close friends to have a baby.

This is very difficult. I get sad thinking about it. Tomorrow I am going to write about what I do to survive, because I know there must be women out there who are in the same boat because they are with consultants who get contracted all over the nation. How does one make this stay afloat? It’s like a rollercoaster because I am with him for the weekend, and then he’s off again.

What’s especially hard is the fact that I have to work all the time he is at home so that I can put in hours at my own job, sans baby!
